Rokuro Akiyama
A damaged and rather small young man of 18, Rokuro, or Ro-ro as his friend Jirou insists on calling him is a very silent and submissive type, with scruffy, light brown hair and bright, vibrant blue eyes. He grew up in Kyoto, Japan with Jirou, in a friendship that felt more like a prison. Ever since they were young it seemed Jirou saw Rokuro as much more than a friend, and as the years went on, the older male would occasionally try to do things that made Rokuro more than uncomfortable, and sometimes he actually succeed. It was only a couple months before the game came out that Rokuro decided to move, after all, he was old enough, and had a good job offer in New York, but Jirou couldn't allow that, it seemed, and insisted they play the game as one last show of friendship before he left for good. Rokuro still regrets giving in, and has more than once tried to run from Jirou, but the fire wielder always catches him. Sometimes he wishes he'd chosen rouge class over beast master, feeling the skills in stealth would help him to get away from the madman, but he doesn't dwell to much on it, and is just grateful he was smart enough to choose water as his element. He doesn't hold much fighting skill though, and is actually pretty weak, in addition to his chain scythe being practically useless to him as he has little idea how to use it. But he is a fair singer, according to those who have heard him and his years of choir in school, and knows how to play a few instruments too, as well as has a few dance moves up his sleeves. As a beast master, he has only one beast so far, which is a Rakajor named Rookie, who is constantly put in danger by trying to protect Rokuro from Jirou's dark intents, getting hurt by the swordsman in the process. Rokuro sometimes wonders if he should just take his own life and escape the tortures of this new world, but he knows that he'd never be able to find the strength or the courage to actually go through with it. Not to mention, Jirou would never let it happen.

Harper Bassow
Beautiful black haired and blue-eyed Harper Bassow, top of her class and self-proclaimed queen of the world, has everyone not smart enough to run away wrapped around her little finger. Growing up an only child with very permissive parents, it was easy to gain control and get what she wanted, and she carried her skill in control over into her school life. As such, she doesn't like when things go out of her control, and she tends to be quite possessive of both things and people. There were some years of school when she slacked off the whole time, and really should have been held back, but by some miracle passed at the last minute, through methods only she knew and that she wouldn't tell. Upon graduating, she even managed to be named valedictorian. Among her many graduation gifts was Alternate Universe Online, sent to her by her mostly senile great uncle, who couldn't remember that she was a girl, not a boy. Thinking it couldn't do any harm and might alleviate some boredom, she tried the game, and was then stuck. She intends to be sure that said great uncle can never go shopping again once she is free of the game. She's a rogue, shadow element, her weapon is a throwing knife/saxe knife pair, and she's 18 years old.

September "Sep" Bellum
Sep, as she likes to be called, grew up in Colmar, France, in a family of two. Just her and her mother, with the occasional boyfriend who never worked out, and whom Sep always hated. It was hard for them, her mother having to work long, hard hours to support them, but they did alright for themselves. There was no help from her maternal grandparents, who had disowned her mother, Annabell, when they found she was pregnant out of wedlock. Sep never met them, and has little desire to ever do so. Fraternal grandparents she never knew, and her father, the same. The only help they ever got was a monthly check of a thousand euros from someone her mother only referred to as The Magic Man. It was this money that went to her college fund, as well as her own personal fund, which she used to purchase the game and gear. Sep is a very happy young woman, and fairly friendly too, but shy in the end. It takes a while for her to really open up to people. To let them see what she really feels. All the pain and loneliness she may feel at any moment. Not many get to see this, but some do. Most of the time though, she's generally pretty happy, and does her best to make sure others are as well. She became a beast master and chose a whip as her weapon, as it seemed to be an obvious choice with being a beast master, one to keep them in control but not kill them. Before becoming trapped in the game, Sep held a fair passion in the hobby of metalworking, and hence chose metal as her element, feeling she would be very adept in using the element in various ways. She is also very skilled in gymnastics, able to jump, bend, and flip around with the best of them...or at least the best of them at her school. With red hair and beautiful red-violet eyes, Sep is a very attractive sixteen year old girl, and though she doesn't do very well in cold climates and tends to dwell on things when she's been hurt, her in ability to keep still keeps her moving right along in the game, fighting till the very end.

Naomi Collins
Seventeen year old Naomi Collins hails from Australia, where she could split her time between outdoor activities such as surfing and skateboarding, school, and online gaming. Being an empath, Naomi always found it fairly easy to make good friends, able to tell who was honest and who was not. It helped that she seemed fairly good at brushing off unpleasantness, both in the form of comments from others and her own mistakes. With dirty blonde hair down to her shoulders, and brown eyes that sparkled with laughter, one wouldn't think that Naomi was capable of anything but happiness. However, at times she can and does swing into depressive lows, due to her being bipolar and never taking medication. As tiny as she is, one also wouldn't expect her to choose a class like Barbarian, but once again, she proves them wrong, selecting a War Axe as tall as she is for her weapon and lightning for her element, to give her attacks some extra punch. While she rarely gets defensive, she is quite self-conscious about a few things, particularly her ability to sing(which she's actually quite good at) and her tiny size. If her self-consciousness becomes great enough to throw her into a low, she tends to try and 'self medicate' through unhealthy behaviors, including getting drunk and risking her life in battles that she isn't ready for.

Scott "Falcon Heart" Harlin
"Will I become my worst enemy?"
In forty years, Ex-Central Alliance soldier, Scott Harlin, has certainly see a lot of things; many good, but mostly bad. Being a veteran of the American Fracture, he's seen death at its finest, watching as the nation quickly crumbled beneath the weight of its own corrupt government, and the outrage of the people. He was only nineteen when he entered the Central Alliance Army, the war already going eight years strong. It was hell for everyone, whether soldier or citizen, but only few more so than Scott. Taken prisoner by the Southern Regime when he was twenty-two, he was put through unknown tortures for the following five years, when the multi-sided war was finally put to an end and the new American Claims were settled. He was "released" into the Southern Claim, but due to closed borders all around, he could not return home, and was forced to stay and work for the very man who had tortured him. Nine more years. Nine more years he was put through personal hell, until finally the American Claims opened their borders and those who'd been taken prisoner during the war were allowed to go home. Scott didn't go without more than just a few things to remember his "master" by though. The stress from the war, and the years which followed, had warped his mind, as could only be expected, and still today Scott suffers from the haunting visions and recurring nightmares he can't always wake up from. After his return home, it took some time for Scott to be able to settle back into a normal life, and some may say he never really did. He was released from the CAA, due to being diagnosed with crippling PTSD and Schizophrenia, and he started regular therapy. It was actually his therapist who suggested Scott try out AUO, saying that maybe, experiencing his fears in a light, playful environment might help him to get over them. Scott was willing to try anything, and so bought himself a system and hard copy- he always had been a fan of retro, and hard copies were considered such, even for new games, since most games could just be downloaded. Upon entering the game, he chose to be a gunner, having been one of the best shots before his capture, and chose a Beretta M9 as his gun, it being the standard issue for the CAA. He chose earth as his element, feeling it was a good, strong element, and convenient too as earth was pretty everywhere, no matter where you went. He took it slow at the start of the game, just getting used to how things actually operated, but as he got more and more into it, he was surprised to find that he actually really enjoyed the action all around him, and that his therapist had apparently been right. That is... Until the host made his announcement. Then the chaos around began. Then the chaos within returned.

Dove Hassler
Dove never had many friends growing up, not in real life anyway. She was a military brat, and so was constantly moved around from place to place, all over the United States, preventing her from making any true friends. Attempts to keep in contanct over long distances always failed, enough that she soon enough just gave up on trying, recognizing that when she moved away, the friendship was over. Still, despite the knowledge that it would end, she cherished the friends she made, and tried to make all the time she had with them worthwhile. It was when she got into online gaming that she finally found her remedy. It gave her an opportunity to make many friends that wouldn't care when or where she moved to, they could stay her friends as long as she had a helmet and internet access. She played many of the games the Seed had to offer, and Alternate Universe was no exception. As an archer in real life, Dove chose to be a ranger upon joining, adopting a strong recurve bow, for which her natural skills came in handy. Ice became her element, and she was all set to meet friends new and old. But she had no way of knowing that her online friends would soon become her real friends. Now at the age of 17, Dove is fairly easy to get along with, having beautiful, dark brown hair with blue highlights and warm green eyes. However, when pushed too far she can become fearsome. She won't let herself be pushed around, and won't just do something because she's asked. Give her a reason she finds viable, and she'll do whatever needs doing, but she will never follow blindly. Even so, she believes in the good in people, perhaps too much. When somebody is reputably bad, or dangerous, or unhealthy to be around, she'll stick by them anyway until they prove to her personally that they are not worth the effort she'd put into the friendship. Which, usually means they have to break her heart somehow, either through harming her physically and without provocation or betraying her in some way.

Keegan "Ace" Kale
Keegan is your stereotypical bad boy, with choppy dark brown hair and deep brown eyes to match, he's prone to wearing dark clothes as well. He just loves to mess with people. Pull their strings and press their buttons. There is nothing he enjoys more than making someone cry or pressing someone into throwing a punch at him, which he is quick to retaliate to with master level martial arts skills. Or so it may seem. Really, Keegan is just screwing around. He sees it as having fun, and doesn't really understand why people act so negatively to things he does or says. But then, Keegan doesn't understand a lot of things now. He doesn't understand why everyone is so afraid, or so angry, or so sad. He doesn't understand why people keep claiming to be trapped. Most of all, he doesn't understand why people keep calling this all a game. To Keegan, everything he sees is real life, as he is one of the unfortunate souls who lost their memory. Far as Keegan knows, this is what real life is, and he likes it. He loves the beauty of the world, from the trees and other aspects of nature, to the fragmentation of items when they expire. That is actually one thing he likes most of all. He claims that it is one of the most beautiful things in the world. Keegan is a gunner, and carries a sniper rifle as his main weapon, though has others in his inventory that he's collected, not that he can use them. His element is metal, and he sees the different element types as different races, different peoples, and can often be a bit racist against other elements. Metal is one of the best in his mind, though he occasionally wishes he were a death elemental instead. All Keegan remembers about himself is that he was born November 16th, is eighteen years old, and hates tomatoes. That, and that he was more often called Ace than Keegan, though he's not sure where the name came from.
A little known fact about Keegan, he was one of the game's beta testers, and actually retains much of his memory for the trials, but sees it all as just past events in his life. Anything that would tell him the world his sees as reality is all false is blocked completely from his conscious mind. Alternate Universe is his world, and there is nothing more than that.

Raina Marlene Kassmeyer
Raina is one of the more spoiled players in the game, coming from an extremely wealthy household thanks to her and her brother's step-father, a man Raina has actually always gotten along with. Growing up, Raina and her brother almost always got whatever they wanted. Be it some new gadget, a trip to a foreign country, or even an exotic animal if that's really what they wanted, it was their's so long as it had a price tag. Raina lived a privileged life. Privileged until it came to who she wanted to be and what she wanted to do. Her mother treated her like a princess, but not in the good way. Home Schooled, Raina was made to sit through different classes then her brother who got to go to public school. Her classes included things like posture and appearance. Speaking properly, in multiple languages. She was taught to cook and clean. To sew and tend to wounds. She was taught to sing and dance, and read and write. To ride a horse and play various instruments and paint and sculpt and do everything that would make a man choose her as his wife, so she could eventually bear children, which she was also taught to care for. Raina hated her lessons. She hated that she wasn't allowed to do things she wanted to do. Things like skating, and mountain climbing, and motorcycling. She wanted to learn how to fix a car, or build a dresser. She wanted to play sports and get dirty, but her mother had other plans for her, and she hated that. She hated the dresses her mother made her wear. She hated the make-up and the jewelry. She hated getting her ears pierced even though she said no. She hated going through surgery to 'get a better nose' even though she was happy with the way she looked. She hated the braces, the whitening, and waxing. Raina hated her mother, and her insistence on turning Raina into some perfect doll. Her only comfort has her brother and her step-father, and every year she looked forward to the trips the man would take her and Diederick on. Moscow and Venice. Tuscany, Sydney, Rome, Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York City, and so much more. She loved their trips, because it was the only time she could be herself. The only time she could escape her mother and just breathe. As expected, it was Raina's step-father who got her and Diederick Alternate Universe, despite his wife's protests that a young woman shouldn't be playing video games. Raina was more than eager to play the game, excited to have another escape from the woman, where she could run and play with her brother she felt she never got to see enough with her personal classes. That, and she was more than eager to spite her mother. Does she regret it now? A little, maybe, but only because she knows her step-father must be a wreck, and to have to deal with her mother? Well, let's just say she wouldn't be upset to return to life and find them divorced...so long as her step-father got custody... For now though, Raina is happy to live in a whole new world where she doesn't have to worry about sitting upright and enunciating while reciting some poem for no real reason but to show she can. Upon entering the game, Raina chose to be a beast master, and originally chose wood as her element, but after taming her first crystal dragon, and being given the chance to change it, she decided to switch to water, planning to create a team of the traditional four elements, with two more dragons to be wind and fire since Terra was earth. Raina was really excited to be making a team of dragons, since she had chosen to be wyvaran, and wielding a double-headed scythe that could split into two dual-wielded, hand scythes, she felt she would be an extremely powerful force. And she was. During the hours before the announcement, Raina set record after record for raising her stats faster than any other player, leaving her brother behind in the dust with her determination and ambition. She wanted to be the best of the best, do as much as she could before she was forced to leave, knowing her mother would never let her play the game again. But then, as if a silent prayer were being answered, they were all called to Elforond, and Raina quickly found her brother as the Host made his announcement. Raina showed nothing. On the one hand, they were trapped, and she'd never she her step-father again. On the other hand though, her mother could never poke or prod her again. That fact is what keeps Raina going, happy and excited with every passing moment of her own personal freedom trapped in paradise. Raina is extremely friendly, and always looking for new friends. She often comes off as over-bearing to most, and can moves things a bit too fast at times, as well as be a little suffocating to some. Though, being raised away from people, aside from her family and teachers, it's understandable that she doesn't fully understand some social standards. Still, Raina is kind and caring, and won't stand to see anyone upset or mistreated. With friends, she is goofy and playful, sometimes even teasing and flirty. Sometimes though, in a snap, Raina changes. When set off, Raina becomes impatient and violent, even commanding and sadistic, not taking no for an answer and definitely not taking excuses from anyone. Then, just like that, she flips back, and once again she's laughing and joking and having a good time. They say she gets this trait from her father, but as no one ever knew who the man was, there is no way to say for certain on if that is true.

Inari Khoury
Inari Khoury comes from a fairly small town in Libya, the sort of place that is often the last to catch up with the rest of the world in terms of technology. However, her own family always made a point to keep up with technology throughout the world, particularly because her father worked for a large tech company in the capital. He often brought home little bits of tech as gifts for his wife and two children; Inari and her older brother Maota. Inari grew up surrounded by progressive technology in her home, and by tradition and color in her town. She joined the Dancer's Nest, a club of sorts that practiced traditional dances from around the world and who shared the stories and lore that the various dances were based on, when she was young, and swiftly proved herself to be quite talented. And she enjoyed it, enough that when she was old enough to leave home, she moved into one of the dorms that the Nest offers to it's members, and started helping to teach some of the newer students. Unfortunately, the Dancer's Nest was a non-profit organization, so she had no way to make money working there. As such, she had to take some work in the next town over, and she started taking online classes for nursing, figuring that it would make for a good career if she couldn't continue dancing. About halfway through her 20th year, her father brought home a copy of the online game, Alternate Universe Online, and gave it to Inari since he knew she enjoyed gaming in her free time. Upon logging in, she chose to be a cleric, with light for her element, planning to help heal other players and to use her light to banish the dark. She chose throwing knives for her weapon, thinking to be able to use them both up close and from a distance. Unfortunately, she was then trapped, her avatar stripped away to reveal the dark skin, electric blue eyes, and white hair that was her reality.

Jirou Kirosawa
An insane young man of 19 with a passion for sadism and lust for power. Jirou has shaggy, jet black hair which falls past his jawline and deep, hallow gray eyes which hide behind his bangs and catch the light like flames on crystal. He hails from Kyoto, Japan where he and his friend Rokuro grew up together. He lived a fairly normal life there. "Boring," as he always put it. Nothing ever seemed to happen. That is, until he heard about AUO coming out, and once he knew who the host was, he knew he had to play, and was more than eager to drag invite Rokuro along as well. The thing was, he knew something was going to happen after the launch. He knew the "great" Kayaba's grandson had to have something good planned, and upon hearing the news of being trapped in the game, he was quite pleased. He wanted to stay in the game. He wanted to be in a world where he was powerful, where he could do practically anything he wanted to, where no one nor no thing could stop him from fighting to get what he wanted. Jirou wanted to be in a world which he could bend to his will, and he plans to do just that. He doesn't seek the boss, no, he seeks the host, and dreams of the day that he'll be able to drive the blade of his long sword right through the bastard's chest and take over the world of Alternate Universe. Sure he's a little crazy, but that's what power does to people, and entering the game gave Jirou more power than he needed to let go of all reality. From gaining even more swordsman skill than he had to start with, to being able to create raging infernos as a fire elemental, Jirou sees himself as a god among mortals, and won't hesitate to knock them all down in his wake as he rises above them. Of course he'll be dragging Rokuro right along with him, after all, he always did have a certain, rather one-sided, "fondness" for his friend. It was just one other reason for playing the game, to keep them together indefinitely.

Rosangela "Rosa" Kuplar
A sweet, younger girl of about 19, Rosa, as she likes to be called for short, was brought up in a more poorer situation then most of the players. A lot of players in this game that she has noticed had money and that's why they could afford to get this game. Rosa was different however. Living day to day on the streets of Rome, Italy; Rosa usually had to beg just to get enough money to feed her family. Her mother was always falling ill and her father was a drunk who would waste his money on more alcohol. She has a little baby sister who she had to help look out for and since no one would hire her, begging was the only option. Well, one day, someone told her that money she could make in the game could actually be converted into real life currency and they handed her their copy of it. When she told them she didn't have the nerve gear to actually get into the game, they gave her money so she could go buy it herself. She had thanked them of course, although she hadn't realized at the time that the guy who had given her the game was the same one who trapped everyone inside here. She took the set home and told her mother who encouraged her to do it if the rumors were true. To at least try it out. It couldn't hurt right? Her father had a raging fit though, giving her a beating for wasting that money on a video game. With tears in her eyes, she locked herself into her room and joined the game. She had only been playing for a few hours and the second she found out the rumors were false, she was going to leave the game, but by then it was too late. The announcement went off telling everyone that they were trapped and Rosa instantly recognized the man's voice. This was a trap! As tears welded in her eyes, her character form turned into her self and with a bit of embarrassment, her bruises came with her. She tried to log out quickly but the log-out button was gone! She had to get back to her mother and sister! She had to! She was suppose to be looking out for them! After running around, trying to get away from the chaos, she ran into Kaspar who allowed her into this wonderful clan. Rosa is a gentle and caring soul, she couldn't even hurt a fly. She's more used to being knocked around than she is to knocking someone else around which is why she chose to be a Cleric, picking the short sword as more of a defensive weapon. Never would she use it unless she really had to. Her element is spirit, which is probably why Kaspar helped her out, it seemed perfect when he told her about his spirited clan. Rosa always feels like she owes him her life. Without him, she would have surely died in this place...

Genesis Laker
A 17 year old girl with white hair and hazel eyes. Genesis is Anemic, which means she is low on Iron, so she has many dizzy spells and black outs. A main problem to this is her lack of water since she cant drink it anyway. Doctors say shes allergic to it even if it can touch her without her having a bad reaction to it. If you ask her about her water problem she'll be truthful(for once) and tell you her throat closes up anytime she tries to drink water, so she stays away from drinking it completely, though she'll still take showers and swim. Gen, what she likes to be called for short, is a cocky, hotheaded girl whose not afraid to mess with kids way bigger or smarter or stronger then her. Even if the word "mess" means messing with their head. Gen can be completely cruel and very sarcastic if she thinks the person sounds stupid, which in her eyes, is most of the time. However, Gen can be completely vulnerable when shes in her dizzy spell or black out. Unlike her sister, Genesis almost always lies, it's sort of become habit by now. Gen has no interest in life, in the real world, she's tried to kill herself plenty of times, all failed attempts of course. For some reason though, in this world, she keeps fighting to stay alive. Gen's choice of weapon are her twin pistols and her element is surprisingly Light. Gen is a gunner, she uses twin pistols as her weapon.

Sonja Laker
A 20 year old bitch with blond hair and hazel eyes. Sonja really does act like a bitch and loves to get under people's skins and mess with their heads. She has a rich like attitude and is mean to pretty much everyone. She pretty much hates everyone too. Despite all of that, Sonja never lies, most likely because she knows the truth hurts worse then a lie. Sonja has a disease called Xeroderma pigmentosum, which means she's allergic to sun light. If sunlight so much as touches her, she could get from either, major 3 degree burns to Hives. Too much sunlight could lead to death. Ironically, along with this disease she also has Vampirism. Which is when someone craves or feels the need to drink blood. On the terrible side, this all came into the game with her, luckily her cloak came too or she would have fried the second her and everyone lost their avatar selves. Sonja had to have a private teacher come in when she was younger and pretty much home school her. Her mother was always a cruel and bitter woman and Sonja being alone at home with her most of the time just picked up on her attitude. Sonja's weapons are throwing knives, which she is extremely good at, even in the real world, and her element is fire. Sonja has a younger sister named Genesis, the person she hates most. The two of them never got alone so it wasn't a surprise that they went their separate ways after the game started. Her and her sister are both German, but surprisingly their accent is small, barely noticeable actually. Sonja naturally took the Rogue class. Her skills with the knife and already having to wear a cloak fit so well, she would have been crazy not to take it.

![Picture](/uploads/3/7/1/8/37189621/zoey-monroe.png?1467264324)
Zoey Monroe
Zoey is the sweet and fun loving twin sister of Zach Monroe. While he was born before her, she came almost a half hour later. She almost didn't make it out of the birth. Luckily she did, and she grew up following her brother's footsteps, no matter what the situation ahead of them led to. There have been multiple times where she saw bigger men trying to pick on her brother and she got herself involved to stand up for him. Usually they would leave her alone, but if she stood up for her brother when he wasn't around, she'd always wind up getting beaten by the bullies. It was sad that the kids at her school knew that they couldn't take the twins on at the same time, but they also knew that Zoey was an easier target when she was alone. Her brother is her hero in her eyes and she works hard to try and be there for him as much as he is for her. So despite getting beat up for standing up for him, she never holds it against him because that's what twins do for each other. She knows that her brother would do the same for her. She would even follow him to the ends of the earth if it came down to it. Zoey is 5'6" so she is much shorter then her brother, making her appear younger then him by more then just 30 minutes. She has icey blue hair and eyes to match her element of Ice. When her brother got the game, of course she was right there getting it too. She wanted to join him and be there to cause trouble with him, right by her brother's side. Knowing from personal experience that Zoey wasn't all that strong in close combat, she decided to be a gunner instead of a beast master like her brother. Besides, when working as a team, you need someone fighting up close and someone at a distance. She's actually a little more helpful to him this way. She chose the sniper rifle over the pistols, simply because she has better aim with the rifle and plus, she could shoot farther with it. Also, while her brother chose water, she chose Ice. A matching element to go with her eyes and hair. If her brother gets someone wet, she could easily freeze them. Even though they are in the game, it is obvious that Zoey is still the weaker twin. Without the ability to be able to fight hand to hand, and without the strength to even try, she's pretty useless without her brother if she was ever caught off guard. Even though Zoey is pretty sweet once you get to know her, she can be pretty nasty if you try to hurt or say anything bad about her brother. On top of that, she is still shy at first meeting like her brother is, so long as you don't come off as threatening. On top of Zoey being weak, Zoey tends to have minor panic/anxiety attacks. Her psychologists tells her parents that it might be because of the near death at child birth on top of all the bullying. Zoey can't really explain them. They come and go and they are usually the strongest when she's trying to sleep. It's why she always shares a bed with her brother, because she feels safer when she's closer to him. They're usually about something stupid too, things that usually wouldn't bother her on normal circumstances, but when these panic attacks hit, her body makes her feel like it's the end of the world. Zoey tries her hardest to overcome these attacks and to try and get strong like her brother. But as of right now, she's only half as strong as he is. Either way, she still loves to cause problems with him and play games on other players like normal twins tend to do.

Allan Poe Montresor
Allan Poe Montresor is quite the interesting individual. French descended and raised in a small town in an area once part of Louisana, he has a delightful Cajun accent which is not hard to miss with how much he seems to love to listen to himself talk. Not many would guess that Allan is nearly thirty years old, with his constant childish behavior, and even childish way of speaking. Most of the time, Allan seems to be a boy trapped in a man's body. But he's not all fun and games. There's a dark side to Allan which would make even the bravest of men uncomfortable. A twisted, sadistic side with the same playful nature as a child which finds enjoyment in tearing others apart in the most literal of senses. Surprisingly, it wasn't the game that made him this way, though it certainly didn't help him. No, Allan has always been an unstable man-child, as well as an unstable child. Fortunately, though, Allan has always had his sister to take care of him and keep him out of trouble...mostly. Lenore couldn't be around all the time, of course, and there were many tines where Allan was able to slip away unnoticed. It was these times he usually wound up hurting himself or others...or both. He once tried to 'fight' on coming traffic, and wound up messing his left leg up really badly, for which he still requires a cane to be able to walk. He actually chose a special cane with a retractable blade at the bottom as his weapon in the game. He always loved playing video games, since they were the only play aside his own mind where he could get away with hurting people and have fun without endangering himself. He especially loved playing those games with Lenore, and was more than excited to share Alternate Universe with her. Along with his cane weapon, Allan chose shadow as his element, loving the idea of being able to sneak up on people by popping out of the darkness. He chose to be a cleric, and dresses as a plague doctor, complete with mask and hat. He has straight, black hair falling to his shoulders, and silvery gray eyes hidden within the shadows of his mask. Despite his dark side, Allan is extremely friendly, and loves meeting new people. In his mind, everyone is a potential friend, even if they want nothing to do with him. As such, he often forces himself on people, and, as a result, he often wriggles his way into various groups, unwanted. He even hangs around various clans and guilds, acting like he belongs regardless of what anyone says or does. There is just one more thing to know about Allan, and that is to never, ever, ever, hurt Lenore.

Orella Safford
A standoffish girl of 15 years, Orella Safford is from Chicago, Illinois, in the USA. She doesn't like people and never really has, and as such prefers to be a solo player within AUO regardless of the risks. She's got a short temper, and will often end up in fights with people who get on her nerves... of which there are a lot. However, every now and then she'll meet somebody who she can get along with, somebody that, given time and persistence, she'll even be comfortable spending more than 5 minutes with them at a time. With these people, she can be described as warm and even friendly, though very quiet, preferring to just let them talk while she listens. Otherwise though, she can get very uncomfortable very quickly around others, especially in a crowd. Unfortunately, she tends to react violently when she's uncomfortable, and the temper of hers doesn't help. And Lord help you if you get on her bad side, because boy can this girl hold a grudge. Upon entering AUO, she chose to be an Earth elemental and a swordswoman, and a special one at that. See, rather than the standard single sword, or even a matched set of dual swords, she chose to wield two separate blades; One, a large broadsword that when not in use is sheathed across her back; and the other, a smaller rapier type of blade that, while not having the impact of it's larger counterpart, could be moved faster and reach farther. Depending on the situation, she'll wield either just one of the two or even both at once, switching them from hand to hand as needed. As for a family, she had a pretty good one, with three older brothers who loved and protected her as much as they could, though the fact that her youngest brother was 5 years older than her made it impossible for them to defend her at school. And there was always one little thing that made her whole life that much worse; her ears. Unlike most children, she was born with a slight mutation in the cartilage of her ears, resulting in ears that were a bit larger and came to a point at the tip, like an elf. The ridicule that followed her around as she went through school never faded away, and never stopped hurting. It didn't help that when puberty hit, she really didn't grow any like the other girls did. As an escape, she got into online gaming, something that her mother and brothers supported since it seemed to help her deal with the life she suffered. Heck, on her 15th birthday she got a hard copy of AUO and the hardware necessary to play it from her oldest brother. That night she logged on, and it turned out to be a Hell of a present.

Kamron Thackston
Born and raised in northern Norway, 19 year old Kamron Thackston is used to both lots of wildlife, and lots of snow. As such, it's little surprise that her favored terrain in Alternate Universe Online has become the North Summit, and that her one and only beast is a large Norse Wolf, whom she has named Heremod. She chose a longsword for her weapon, thinking that to make beasts fight for her was not enough, she had to fight alongside them. She has practiced with it over and over again, bringing her sword skill up almost into the triple didgets, and has done the same for her speed and strength. However, she often neglects to boost her defense, leaving her less able to take a hit, when somebody manages to land one. She chose wind for her element, remembering how strong winds, combined with terrain, could make for some very damaging conditions, ranging from blizzards to sandstorms and anything in between.
